Singapore’s EPR scheme places responsibility on producers and importers of regulated electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) to fund proper collection and recycling of their products at end of life. If your business manufactures or imports regulated electronic products for supply in Singapore, you have direct obligations under the Resource Sustainability Act — including NEA registration and, where applicable, financing the Producer Responsibility Scheme.
If your business is simply disposing of unwanted e-waste as a user — such as upgrading office computers or clearing server equipment — you are not directly obligated under the EPR scheme. However, engaging a licensed collector ensures your disposal is handled in full compliance with NEA regulations and provides the documentation trail needed for ISO 14001 and ESG reporting.
