Each CPU contains a mix of metals, circuit boards, plastics, and wiring, which must be dismantled and sorted before processing.

What limits recyclability

  • Some parts cannot be efficiently recycled due to material composition or contamination.
  • Plastic casings and contaminated units are not recyclable due to material degradation.

Note: Non-recyclable parts are handled under GHS’s licensed waste disposal services, ensuring safe and compliant treatment.

How to Prepare for Collection / Drop-Off

  • Keep CPUs intact — you do not need to dismantle or remove any parts. Our trained team will handle all dismantling, sorting, and material recovery safely at our facility.

  • Prepare CPUs separately — group CPUs apart from monitors and other e-waste for smoother collection.

  • Store properly — Keep items in a dry, sheltered area before collection to prevent corrosion or contamination.

  • Do not include general waste, food waste, or non-electronic materials with your CPUs.
