Banner Stand

Learn how Gee Hoe Seng Pte Ltd (GHS) handles the collection and recycling of banner stands in Singapore responsibly and sustainably.

Banner stands are widely used for events, marketing, and exhibitions, but often end up discarded after short-term use. By recycling banner stands properly, we can recover valuable metals like aluminium and reduce unnecessary waste from plastic and vinyl materials.

Is it Recyclable?

Yes — banner stands are recyclable, but not all parts can be recovered.

The aluminium frame and metal attachments are recyclable, while the vinyl or fabric banner itself is not recyclable due to mixed synthetic materials and ink coatings.

At GHS, we handle banner stand recycling by dismantling, sorting, and separating recyclable components, ensuring responsible disposal and maximum material recovery.

Why and What Parts Can Be Recycled?

Discover which parts of a banner stand can be recovered and how proper dismantling supports sustainability in Singapore’s event industry.

Here’s why recycling works

  • Aluminium and iron components can be recycled into new metal products.
Recyclable
  • Aluminium stand frames
  • Iron screws and plates

What limits recyclability

  • Mixed materials — Components where plastic is bonded with metal cannot be efficiently separated for recycling.
  • Vinyl banners and coated fabrics — Ink, adhesive, and laminate coatings prevent proper recycling.
  • Non-detachable plastic fittings or screws — These contaminate clean aluminium and lower recovery value.
Not Recyclable
  • Vinyl or fabric banners (due to mixed coatings and print ink)
  • Plastic parts that cannot be separated from the frame

Note: Before collection, dismantle the stand and remove vinyl, plastic clips, and screws so that the aluminium frame is free from contamination.

Additional Information
1) Loads containing mixed materials or attached vinyl may incur handling or disposal charges to cover sorting and processing costs or may be subjected to reduced weight valuation due to contamination.
2) Destruction certificates are available upon request and subject to additional charges.
