Aluminium Extrusion

Learn how Gee Hoe Seng Pte Ltd (GHS) handles the collection and recycling of aluminium extrusions in Singapore responsibly and efficiently.

Aluminium extrusions are widely used in construction, manufacturing, and automotive industries due to their lightweight strength and corrosion resistance. Recycling these materials significantly reduces energy consumption, lowers greenhouse gas emissions, and supports Singapore’s circular economy.

Is it Recyclable?

Each extrusion is made by forcing aluminium alloy through a mould or die to create shapes such as rods, tubes, and channels. Clean, uncontaminated aluminium can be recycled repeatedly without losing quality — making it one of the most sustainable metals to recycle.

At GHS, we process and recycle aluminium extrusions, ensuring that all materials are recovered responsibly.

Why and What Parts Can Be Recycled?

Discover why aluminium extrusion recycling is essential and how to prepare them for collection.

Here’s why recycling works

  • Aluminium can be recycled infinitely without degradation in quality.
Recyclable
  • Pure aluminium extrusions
  • Clean aluminium profiles, rods, or frames
  • Extruded moulds or channels free from attachments

What limits recyclability

  • Mixed-metal attachments make separation inefficient.
  • Plastic or iron fittings reduce the purity and value of recovered aluminium.
Not Recyclable
  • Aluminium mixed with other metals (iron, stainless steel)
  • Pieces containing plastic, rubber or heavy contamination
  • Items with screws, bolts, or other non-aluminium attachments

Note: Simply ensure they are clean, dry, and free from contaminants or attachments before collection.

Additional Information
1) Clean, uncontaminated aluminium extrusions command a higher recycling value. Loads containing mixed metals, plastic fittings, or other contaminants may incur handling or disposal charges to cover sorting and processing costs. In some cases, the net recyclable weight will be adjusted to reflect contamination and non-recyclable materials.
2) Certificates of Recycling are available upon request and subject to additional charges.
